What are Chaturbate apps and bots?
Apps are small programs that broadcasters run in their chat room to personalise it. They add features such as tip counting, timers, message customisation and room-wide messages. Community members write them, and they are found in the App Directory. Source: What are Apps?
With apps a broadcaster can set goals, post automatic chat notices with the room rules, add a tip menu and play games with viewers. Source: Apps

How many apps and bots can I run at once?
Up to 10 version 2 (V2) apps and 6 version 1 (V1, legacy) apps and bots can run in your room at the same time. Both kinds are in the same directory. Source: Apps
What is the difference between V1 and V2 apps?
V1 apps come from the original launch. They have a grey default icon and a Legacy label. V2 apps are newer and have a custom colour icon or a blue default icon. Chaturbate lists these advantages for V2:
- Always running: a V2 app starts when it is installed and keeps running between broadcasts. A legacy app has to be restarted for every broadcast.
- Live settings: changes to a V2 app apply automatically. A legacy app must be restarted to change its settings.
- Saved data: a V2 app can remember data such as tip leaders from one broadcast to the next. A legacy app loses its data at the end of each show.
- Broadcast panel: every V2 app can control the content of the broadcast panel.

How can I get a custom Chaturbate app made?
All apps are written in JavaScript, and many are open source. You can copy the source code of an existing app, change it and publish it. If you cannot write one yourself, contact an app developer and have one made for you. Source: How can I get a custom app made?
To change an existing community app, open the Chaturbate Developer Portal, choose Community apps from the dropdown, select an app and click "Copy to my apps". That opens the developer IDE, where you edit the code. Chaturbate notes that it is polite to credit the original creator when you copy code. Source: Can existing apps be improved?

Who can rate or review a Chaturbate app?
- Only age-verified accounts can submit or edit a review.
- You must have used the app during a live broadcast for a minimum duration.
- You must have used the app recently to post a new review. An existing review can still be updated.
- Each user has one review per app and can edit it at any time.
Offering tips, gifts or other benefits in exchange for ratings is not allowed, and neither are spam, hate speech or off-topic reviews. A developer can post one public reply to each review. The overall score is weighted towards recent reviews. Source: App Ratings & Reviews
Apps are also how ticket shows are run, which is explained in Chaturbate ticket and password shows. For streaming software, see how to set up OBS for Chaturbate, and for a wider look at the site read our Chaturbate review.
