How Do I Turn On 2FA on Stripchat and Chaturbate?

On Stripchat, open Settings and Privacy and switch on the Two-Factor Authentication panel under My Password. On Chaturbate, open the Security Center and set up 2-Step Verification. Both add a short code to the login process, so a stolen password alone is not enough to get in.

Stripchat uses the Google Authenticator app. The steps are:

• Go to Settings and Privacy and enable the Two-Factor Authentication switch. Enter your Stripchat password when asked.
• Install Google Authenticator from Google Play or the App Store, open it and begin setup.
• If Stripchat is open on a computer: choose the scan option in the app and scan the QR code on the Stripchat page.
• If Stripchat is open on the same phone: choose manual entry and paste the long key shown next to the QR code. The account field can be left empty.
• Type the 6-digit code from the app into the box on Stripchat and press Enable Auth.

When it detects a login attempt that looks suspicious. You see the message "Two-factor authentication is required", open Google Authenticator, type the current code and press Continue. The app makes a new code every 30 seconds. Two limits are worth knowing: the app issues codes on one mobile device only, and more than 10 wrong codes block the account for 30 minutes. Separately from 2FA, Stripchat reacts to a login from a new or unusual location by emailing your verified address. You have to follow the link in that email to confirm the login is yours. Source: What happens if there's a login to my account from an unusual location?

Open the Security Center, which is linked at the bottom of the site and in the Settings & Privacy tab. It grades your account on three things: email, password and 2-Step Verification. Source: What is the Security Center?

From there you register a way to receive codes. Chaturbate can send a code by text message or by phone call, or you can generate it with a smartphone app or a hardware key. After that, logging in asks for a verification code. Source: What is 2-Step Verification?

Setup has to be done on a desktop device; it cannot be completed from a phone. Hardware keys are optional, and Chaturbate supports any U2F compatible device, including current YubiKey models. Source: What devices are compatible with 2-Step?

No. The authenticator app has a generic name, such as Google Authenticator, and does not mention Chaturbate. Text messages come from an SMS short code and contain only the code. Automated calls have no caller ID and the number is not listed in directories. Source: What is 2-Step Verification?

Chaturbate lists three fixes. If the authenticator app will not sync, check that the phone's date and time are correct. If the QR code will not scan, zoom in on the page. If you have no mobile phone, a landline works, because the automatic system can call you with the code. Source: 2-Step Troubleshooting

Stripchat: log out of every Stripchat account first, open the forgot-password page and enter your username or email. A recovery email arrives from noreply@account.stripchat.com. Click Reset Password and type the new password twice. If nothing arrives, check the spam folder, request the email again and use the most recent link. Chaturbate: use the password reset page. If no email arrives, your address may not be on file, and Chaturbate suggests contacting support. Source: I forgot my password

Chaturbate also warns about phishing: if a link in an email or in someone's bio opens a Chaturbate login screen, do not type your details there. Log in only on the site itself. Source: Protecting your account
